ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police say a man involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a motorcycle driver has turned himself in.
John Henderson "Chip" Duke III, 55, turned himself in at the Law Enforcement Center on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
He was charged with failure to yield before entering the roadway and leaving the scene of an accident. According to the sheriff's jail log, he was released Tuesday.
Police began their search Sunday after Duke's Ford F-150 collided with a motorcycle on Westover Boulevard.
According to a report, the truck came out of a parking lot at Homerun Foods in front of 21-year-old Christian Jofre, who was riding a motorcycle.
Investigators said Jofre tried to avoid hitting the truck by laying down his bike, but it slid underneath and he was run over.
Jofre was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, and was in good condition as of Thursday morning.
