Tobacco free college campuses coming next week

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - One week from Wednesday, all University System of Georgia campuses must be completely tobacco free.

All tobacco products and e-cigarettes will be prohibited on all college property. The ban is already in place at some schools already... but it will become mandatory next Wednesday.

Darton State students have differing opinions on the ban.

"I'm very excited because you shouldn't be worried about smoking on campus. You should we worried about getting your work done instead of smoking tobacco and hanging out," said Adriana Blackmon.

"We all should just be alright with just smoking outside," said freshman Devin Swan.

The Board of Regents approved the policy in March and gave colleges until October 1st to implement it.
