ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany woman honored by President Obama for her program to combat childhood obesity could be featured in a nationwide commercial.
Pamela Jackson, founder of Youth Becoming Healthy, is one of 20 semi-finalists for Mutual of Omaha's A-Ha moment. Over the next two weeks, a panel of judges will select 10 finalists who champion an important cause.
"It makes me feel good, because again I want to honor the memory of my brother and prevent children from suffering the way that he did," said Pamela Jackson, YBH Founder. "We have too many kids now that are struggling with obesity, 17% of our children are overweight and it's causing a lot of problems down the road."
Mutual of Omaha will notify the top 10 finalists on September 29th. The winner will be featured in the company's advertising campaign next Spring.
