GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Folks in Whigham met Tuesday night to discuss possible grants that would go towards a new sewer project.
This is just one of the many efforts the city has begun to try and improve the downtown area.
Local businesses just recently had to dig up land because of septic tank issues.
Mayor George Trulock said while he's hopeful for new improvements, he's waiting to hear how engineers and the city council plan to pay for it.
Mayor Trulock said, “But the problem is, can a city of 450 people pay for a multi-million dollar sewer system?”
Trulock said this could be the first step in a long-term plan to renew the town.
