AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Americus Police are looking for a man after an overnight police chase.

An officer tried to stop the driver on Mary Blount Drive, but he didn't stop. A skid mark on Pecan Terrace about a half mile away shows where the car wrecked.

Americus Police say the driver of vehicle has been identified as Diquon Griffin, of Americus.

Warrants has been issued for eluding police, open container, failure to stop at stop sign, too fast for conditions, and driving on a suspended suspended. He has not been arrested.

"The vehicle refused to stop. Officer gave pursuit. The vehicle eluded the officer and came to rest at 144 pecan terrace where the driver of the vehicle jumped out and he's still at large," said Major Herman Lamar of the Americus Police Department.
