South Albany store robbed for second time in a month

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -  Albany Police urge business owners to make sure they have surveillance cameras and good lighting, after a South Albany convenience store was robbed for the second time in a month.

About 3:15 Monday morning two men outside the service window at Brothers Convenience store on Newton Road pulled a gun on the clerk and got an unknown amount of cash.

The store does not have a surveillance camera outside.

Police say cameras and lights can prevent robberies.

Albany Police Corporal Brian Covington said "We want to make that person uncomfortable.  We want to put him in the light, and put him on camera.  So if you are on camera that means someone is watching you.  If you are in the light, that somebody can see you."

The store was also robbed at gunpoint by two men on August 25th.

If you have any information about the robberies, call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
