ALBANY, GA (WALB) - This week Albany Mayor Dorothy Hubbard is hosting a panel discussion on Downtown Development.
"Downtowns on the Rise" will discuss redeveloping and revitalizing historic downtown areas, including Albany.
Albany city officials, plus some representatives from Columbus and Macon will be on the panel. Its open to the public.
“This is an opportunity for citizens to hear experts say this is the process we took and this is how we got there, and there were challenges along the way but it really takes a lot of community support, and then it's an opportunity for citizens to say this is what we want out of downtown,” says Barbara Rivera Holmes, Vice President of the Albany-Dougherty Economic Development Comission.
The panel discussion is on Tuesday from 3 to 5 p.m. in room 100 of the Government Center downtown.
