ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Darton college officials are hoping a new program will get more young people interested in science.
"Creating Outstanding Opportunities for Leaders" or "COOL" is a program for kids in Pre-K through high school who work with Darton professors in lego, computer and science activities. Professors say this is a fun way to introduce kids to science and competing in the real world.
"So they'll be able to go out to do science experiments and then it'll lead them on to careers in Science, careers in Technology, careers in Engineering and Mathematics," said Dr. Sheila Thomas, Continuing Education and Economic Development Director.
They will offer programs once a month in October, November, February, March and April. Registration fees for Pre-K students are $20 and $30 to $35 for Elementary, middle and high school students. You can call the Continuing Education and Economic Development Department at 229-317-6730 for more information.
