ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Folks had a chance to get rid of some unwanted items at Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful's "Go Green" event on Saturday.

Dozens of cars lined up as they waited to dispose electronics like computers, TVs, and other items like microwaves. The Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit was also there to take old and unwanted medications. Organizers say this is a good way to recycle items that would otherwise go into the landfill.

"It's really important for us to keep the Earth clean and recycling stuff can help out,” said Erica Braswell, volunteer.

"Reduce, Reuse, Recycle,” said Erica Braswell, Brittany Benner, Madeline Conger, volunteers.

Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful officials say you can still drop off electronics at their location and medications at the Albany-Dougherty Drug Unit or the Sheriff's office on Pine Ave.
