Georgia Power supports South Georgia Tech Foundation

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Georgia Power Area Manager Jem Morris presented a donation from the Georgia Power Foundation to the South Georgia Technical College Foundation 2014 TechForce annual fund drive recently. 

 “We would like to thank Jem Morris and Georgia Power Company for the donation to the South Georgia Technical College Foundation,” said SGTC President Sparky Reeves.  

Reeves said, “Georgia Power has been a tremendous partner to South Georgia Technical College and they have also been very supportive of our faculty, staff, and students.  We appreciate them and their commitment to our college and community.”

The Foundation's TechForce annual fund drive is helping provide scholarships for deserving and financially disadvantaged students on both the Americus and Crisp County Center campuses, purchase training equipment for the new John Deere TECH Agricultural Technology associate degree program as well as the EMT and Fire Science Technology programs.  

Funds will also be utilized for tutorial computer software for the college's LIFE (Learning is For Everyone) Labs on both the Americus and Crisp County campuses.
