Church use crosses to visualize abortion numbers

A church in Mitchell County set up thousands of crosses to make a statement about abortion.

Pleasant Grove Baptist Church set these crosses up on U.S. 19 near Putney.

The church says the pink and blue crosses represent the 4,000 babies that are aborted everyday in the United States.

Organizers say they wanted to give a visual reminder and raise awareness that life starts at conception.

“We serve a God of forgiveness and so were out here telling the truth because Jesus said he was a God of Grace and Truth. So we're telling the truth and also offering Grace to those who need that,” said Lynette Harper, Pleasant Grove Baptist.

The church says the crosses is not meant for criticize anyone.

The church says the crosses will stay in the field for several months. They will offer the crosses to any church who wants to use them in the future.
