TIFTON, GA (WALB) - Tift Regional Hospital is renaming their cancer center after a dedicated volunteer.
Anita Stovall been a Pink Lady at the hospital for over a year. After she made a significant donation to the oncology center the hospital decided to rename the facility the Anita Stewart Oncology Center.
Stovall says it's her way to give back after several of her family members were touched by cancer.
"Every day you hear about a family member who has cancer. And I felt that was where the greatest need was to donate to the oncology center. It's going to allow us to serve so many more people in these areas," said Anita Stovall.
Stovall's contribution will allow the hospital to expand the center. A dedication ceremony will be held at the center Thursday at 2 p.m.
