LOWNDES CO., GA (WALB) - The Lighthouse Christian School in Lowndes County is helping South Georgians make money while also raising money for the school.
Lighthouse Christian School kicked off its bi-annual kids consignment sale Thursday afternoon. It includes gently-used items for babies up to teenagers.
"It helps get some income back into the community," said Jennifer Marquis, with the event's coordinator. "By having the sale, by hosting the sale, we can get shoppers to come in and save some money but also help the families. It's their items, so they keep the money."
In the two and a half years that the school has held the sale, they have been able to raise $13,000. The school plans to use the money raised from this sale to update the bathrooms in the school.
The sale runs from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. on Friday and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday. The school is located at 4565 Bemiss Road.
