Canoe & Kayak project costing more than expected

Lanicia Hart, ADICA Chairwoman Lanicia Hart, ADICA Chairwoman
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

ADICA board members approved another $25,000 for the Downtown Albany Canoe and Kayak project.

Two downtown launches have been delayed much of the year by heavy rain and high water on the Flint. Those delays contributed to a higher price tag.

"I think it's going to be a wonderful event or something families can participate in so we are really looking forward for that to be completed," said ADICA Chairwoman Lanicia Hart.

Another site has been completed near the Georgia Power Dam.

The launches are now expected to be finished by late October or early November.
