City officials will continue to work with railroad companies, and the DOT to make improvements to crossings around Albany.
Tuesday city commissioners got an update on improvements already made along Slappey Boulevard, Blaylock Street, and Broad Avenue.
City Engineering Director Bruce Maples says the changes will make things safer, and more comfortable for drivers who cross railroads.
"Its very discomforting for a lot of citizens who travel the railroads and so what we are trying to do is make it safe for the motorists who travel through the city of Albany and make it a comfortable ride and we just think its something that the railroads need to do," says Bruce Maples, Director of Engineering.
Maples says the city hopes to make improvements along South Mock road near the Marine Base soon.
