WORTH CO., GA (WALB) - Every county in Georgia is now camera ready.
Worth County is one of the final 20 counties that just earned the designation meant to show television and movie producers that local communities are able and willing to help them. Georgia now ranks third in the number of TV and film productions behind California and New York. Worth County leaders hope the designation will bring exposure and revenue to the County.
"It's one of those things that is another tool in your tool box for your community and it could possibly mean something very exciting for us. We're worth it," said Karen Rackley, Sylvester-Worth County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.
The state's Camera Ready Community program started in 2010. Since then, the film industry's annual economic impact in Georgia skyrocketed from $1.33-billion to $5.1-billion last fiscal year.
