THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Traffic is back to normal now on the Thomasville Bypass after a log truck overturned, causing a mess.
The truck was traveling east on the bypass just before noon.
State troopers said the driver was going too fast when he tried to make a right turn.
The load shifted and the truck overturned, dumping logs on the road.
Sergeant Tommy Peeples said, “The drivers have to slow down when they're making these turns. Sometimes they don't slow down to a safe enough speed and they take the turn a little too fast. It causes the load to shift and the trucks wind up on their sides. And that's where we're at today."
Sergeant Peeples said the truck driver was a little shaken up but was not injured.
