VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Lowndes County woman has been arrested and her boyfriend taken to the hospital after officials said she stabbed him in the back.
Natalya Otera, 25, was charged with aggravated assault.
Lowndes County Sheriff's deputies said it happened around 2:20 a.m. Friday at a home on Camellia Drive in Valdosta.
According to a report, deputies were called to the home where they found the victim, Otera's boyfriend, stabbed in the back.
Investigators said the the stabbing was the result of an argument between the couple. "At some point, the female got angered over the argument, went to the kitchen, and grabbed a kitchen knife. At that time, the argument escalated to a physical assault [and] the victim was stabbed in the back," explained Lowndes County Sheriff's Office Lieutenant Stryde Jones.
Otera was taken to the Lowndes County Jail, was expected to appear before a Magistrate Friday afternoon.
