Albany State earns HBCU ranking

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany State has been recognized as one of the nation's best Historically Black Colleges and Universities. U.S. News & World Report put ASU at No. 15 on its list of the best HBCU's.

It's the first time the school has made the list which takes into account graduation and retention rates, peer assessments, student to faculty ratio, admission test scores and other measures.

"We are excited about the recognition of the hard work our students, staff, faculty and alumni do for us," said Interim Provost and VP/ for Academic Affairs Dr. Abiodun Ojemakinde.

There are 103 other HBCU schools in the country.
