Cancer Coalition thanks Leesburg CVS

LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - The Cancer Coalition of Southwest Georgia and a Lee County student thanked the CVS Pharmacy on Highway 19 Thursday.

The duo praised the chain for removing all tobacco products from its stores.

The Lee County School System is one of the four in our area that has banned all tobacco use on all school property. Officials commended the school's hard work. Cancer coalition leaders hope that the trend spreads.

"This group of youth leaders has worked throughout the school year starting from last year," said Health Education Coordinator Kimberly Scott."

The group plans to take their tobacco-free effort to Terrell County schools next.
