THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomasville Christian School celebrated its 10th anniversary on Thursday by dedicating the school's first flag on campus.

Officials from Thomasville Fire Rescue, Gold Star Ambulance, and the Honor Guard were all there to watch as the flag went up.

Woodmen of the World gave the school their first flag pole.

Headmaster Ed Sloan said he planned the ceremony for today in honor of the men and women who died on September 11, 2001.

Sloan said, “We thought a perfect time to raise the first flag would be a commemoration ceremony for 9/11.”

The school dedicates the flag and its grounds to the servicemen and their families.
