ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Students and faculty at Monroe High School honored first responders on the 9/11 anniversary. The student government president and Air Force Junior ROTC Inspector General spoke.
Even though many students only vaguely remember September 11, 2001... they still understand how important it is to honor those who died and those who responded to the attacks.
"I'm showing my gratitude to the public safety officials who have dedicated their lives to serving us as citizens," Rashawn Hall Monroe High School senior class president.
"It puts everything into perspective, anything could happen, you never know, so you have to be careful and be aware of things," said Breanna Taylor, AFJROTC Inspector General.
The ceremony lasted about 30 minutes then students went back to their regular scheduled classes.
