Lee Co. commissioners move forward with Forester Parkway Extension project

Lee County commissioners gave the go ahead to seek bids for the first phase of a long awaited road project.

County Manager Ron Rabun says they'll do the Forester Parkway Extension in phases so they don't have to borrow any money.

He says it will help will east to west traffic flow, and emergency access.

“We dont have a lot of east and west access and that means longer times in commuting and getting to work and also for public safety access. If have have a sheriff's deputy or ambulance trying to get across the county,” says County Manager Ron Rabun.

He says the total length of the project is five miles. This first phase near Oakland Parkway is 8-tenths of a mile.
