We have gathered new details in the arrest of the man charged in a deadly shooting outside a Valdosta Applebee's last month. We now know the suspect and the victim had both been charged in a major drug bust earlier this year.
Anthony Ceasar was arrested Monday near Atlanta, he had been on the run for over two weeks. He is accused of pulling the trigger on 39 year-old Kenneth Johnson, killing him.
In February deputies from the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office arrested Ceasar and Johnson for possessing over $24,000 worth of cocaine. Make and material to distribute was also confiscated.
The drugs were found in a Valdosta and Lake Park home connected to the two men. They were booked in Lowndes County Jail on February 12th.
Now, Ceasar is back behind bars. He's accused of shooting and killing Johnson in the parking lot of the Valdosta Applebee's just after midnight on August 22nd. He is also being held accountable for injuring 41 year-old Lashanda Williams who was shot in the same incident. She is now recovering.
Investigators haven't released a motive but say they narrowed in on Ceasar last week in Lake Park but he managed to get away.
