Window busted, purse stolen in East Albany

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany woman learns her lesson after someone broke into her car.

Kimberly Phillips says she was visiting a friend house on Exeter Road when someone busted the front driver window of her car around 7 o'clock Sunday night.

Phillips says her car doors were locked and was inside the house for less than 30 minutes.

“I was like oh my God. I was only going to be in there for a second. I was not expecting for someone to take my purse. I did not leave it in visible site. I left it behind the seat. You can see its leaning further back than normal,” said Kimberly Phillips.

Albany Police surveyed the scene for fingerprints. So far the purse has not been recovered.

Albany Police says it is difficult to get a good print if the surface is wet due to rain. It can be collected but the chances of getting good print is slim to none.
