Man hit by car after argument

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Police say an Albany man was hit by a car during an argument with the driver.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. Sunday. According to a report, 22-year-old Jakiel Rogers was hit by a 1999 white Mercury in the 400 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard.

A witness at the scene took him to the hospital, where he was treated and released.

Rogers told police that he and an acquaintance got into an argument as they were driving home from a club. The acquaintance forced Rogers out of the car, then backed up and hit him, rolling him over the hood.

Police said no arrests have been made.

    The Valdosta Fire Department held a family and friends day Saturday welcoming 10 new recruits to the team.  The event allowed the community to come out and welcome the new firefighters and their families to the Valdosta Fire Department family.
