ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candidate for state Attorney General made a stop in Albany.
Democratic candidate Greg Hecht met with citizens to discuss prosecuting corruption and protecting children from abuse. Hecht is a Columbus native and was their Assistant District Attorney for four years. He was also a state representative for child safety and elder abuse prevention. Hecht says there is a child safety crisis in the state.
"Over 400 children with histories with DFACS have died within the last three years," said Greg Hecht, (D) Attorney General Candidate. "It's time to stop putting children in dangerous homes and give them safe places to live. Additionally we're 50th out of 50 states in enforcing public corruption laws."
Hecht is also concerned about the elderly becoming victims of identity theft. Hecht will face Republican Attorney General, Sam Olens in the November 4th election.
