ROTC students display flags at Albany Mall

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dozens of South Georgia ROTC students were in front of the Albany mall helping display hundreds of American flags.

ROTC students from Lee County High School, Westover High School and Monroe High School helped members of the American Legion place more than 600 flags around the Albany mall.

They also set out about 100 white crosses to remember those who lost their lives in war.

"We're honoring the people who gave their lives," said Don Norman, American Legion member. "Who served their country. We want people to know that they're represented by something here and these flags and these crosses is a way that we do that."

Norman says flags can be purchased at the American Legion in honor of someone who served.
