ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A candidate for the Dougherty County Commission talked to several college students about concerns of proposed natural gas pipeline.
Dougherty County District 4 candidate, Pat Garner, hosted a Sabal Trail pipeline meeting Friday night at Darton State College. Garner says the pipeline presents noise, environmental, public safety, and property value concerns. He's hoping more college students will get involved to stop the pipeline from coming to Albany.
"Getting involved in the democratic process in the local level is something that every young person can do to change the direction of their community and to improve not only the life of themselves but for their neighbors as well," said Pat Garner, Dougherty County Commission District 4 Candidate.
Garner hopes people will sign petitions and contact their local government officials to stop the pipeline. The nearly 500 mile proposed pipeline begins in Alabama, stretches through Georgia and ends in Florida.
Garner says you can contact firstname.lastname@example.org to ask any questions about the pipeline.
