MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Moultrie police are hoping you can help find the thieves who broke into the equipment shop.
The Owner of Beason Equipment Company came into work Wednesday morning noticing his lights were still on, his business had been ransacked and that he was missing several tools. Thieves broke in sometime late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning by ripping the metal siding.
"The owner had arrived for work, when he arrived he found the side of his business had been ripped apart around the rolling garage doors," said Inv. William Baillargeon, Moultrie Police Department.
The owner says the thieves originally tried to enter through the front door by breaking a lock, but were unsuccessful. Several tools used to run his business were missing from a large tool box.
"Snap on tools, Craftsman tools, there were a lot of hand tools, ratchets, sockets," said Inv. Baillargeon. "Things of that nature."
Several car batteries were taken and thieves also unbolted a device from one of the work tables. The owner says they got away by cutting a chain to one of the garage doors. Moultrie police believe several people were involved in the thefts.
"With the amount of stuff that was taken from the business more than likely it was more than one person involved," said Inv. Baillargeon.
Thieves got away with more than $10,000 worth of tools. The owner is working on replacing his stolen items.
No arrests have been made. If you have any information about this case contact Moultrie Police.
