MillerCoors cleans Albany waterways

NEWTON, GA (WALB) - MillerCoors of Albany went to Cox Landing to clean up Lake Chehaw and the Flint River Friday. September is Great Water Month for the brewery, and each plant teams up with local organizations to clean up waterways.

MillerCoors teamed up with the Flint Riverkeeper in Albany and went out this morning. About 60 people volunteered to pick up trash in the water and on the banks.

"We're fortunate to be in Albany, Georgia with the abundant water supply," said MillerCoors VP Tim Dill. "Clean water, right on site from the wells in which we draw our water. We know it's our responsibility to preserve, and conserve it, and use it wisely."

This is the third year the company has done the event.
