ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's a big weekend across Georgia, as two big hunting seasons open up Saturday and Department of Natural Resources Rangers are asking hunters to think safety on opening days.
Large numbers of dove hunters are expected in fields across South Georgia, as dove season opens tomorrow at noon. The season runs through September 21st. Rangers say there are no significant rule changes for the 2014 season, and the daily limit is still 15 birds.
Rangers urge hunters to stay hydrated in the heat, and think safety first.
"Keep your muzzle of the firearm pointed in a safe direction at all times. Try to avoid shooting at low birds. Always be conscious and aware of where your fellow hunters are," said Ranger Robbie Griner of the GA. D.N.R.
Georgia's very coveted alligator season also opens tomorrow, and runs through October 5th. You can see all the Georgia hunting
