APD promotes Clean Car Campaign

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are once again hitting the streets to remind folks to clean out their cars to prevent break-ins.

Officers stopped by DJ's II Car wash on Stuart Avenue Friday morning to speak with drivers about how they can avoid becoming targets.

They also passed out Clean Car Checklists as a reminder to take any valuable items with them when they leave their vehicles.

APD says the campaign is a great reminder to citizens that they care about their safety.

"Any time someone's car or their home is broken into, we take it personally as well. So, any chance that we get to come out into the community to spread some information as to how to prevent that from happening , that's what we are going to do," said Corporal Brian Covington of APD.

Officers also stopped by Goo Goo Car Wash on Dawson and Oasis Car Wash on Slappey Friday afternoon.
