VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Representative Jack Kingston said Wednesday that he still has a lot of work planned even though he's only got a few months left in Congress.
Kingston attended a legislative luncheon in Valdosta hosted by the Valdosta and Berrien County chambers of commerce Wednesday afternoon.
He said he's not planning on taking it easy just because his long career is almost over. "I wanna work for national security and the situation on the border with Mexico. And, also, get the budget done for the year. So, I'm gonna work hard on those three things," Kingston explained.
Kingston lost a runoff in the Republican U.S. Senate race earlier this year. Republican Buddy Carter and Democrat Brian Reese will face off in November to take his spot representing Georgia's 1st District in Congress.
