ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Southwest Georgia chapter of the United Way hopes you'll donate to help service organizations in the region.
The non-profit held a fundraising campaign kickoff luncheon at Merry Acres Wednesday. Donors heard success stories from charities that receive donations from the United Way. The southwest Georgia chapter sends money to 27 organizations.
"So when you support the United Way of Southwest Georgia, it's a great way to right one check, give one contribution to one organization that helps so many in the community," said Southwest Georgia United Way CEO LaKisha Bryant Bruce.
The local campaign goal for 2014 is $850,000.
