Property owners could pay garbage bills in Turner Co.

TURNER CO., GA (WALB) -

Turner County Commissioners are looking to change the way garbage bills are collected.

They say too many people aren't paying the $20 monthly fee.

Right now, it's up to the actual resident rather than the property owner to apply for garbage service and pay the bill.

“This has caused some problems in the past from collections and we are considering changing that to where the property owner shall apply for the service,” said Sam McCard, Turner County Commission Chairman.

Commissioners will look at the changes at their monthly commission meeting Tuesday night.
