ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Prosecutors are still waiting on a report from the GBI before deciding how to proceed with gambling charges against more than a dozen Albany area business leaders.
The special prosecutor from the Chattahoochee District Attorney's office says that he expects to get the final investigative report this week.
GBI agents arrested 14 men, including former Albany Mayor Willie Adams, when they raided a poker game June 3rd at the former Riverhouse Restaurant on Lake Chehaw.
Prosecutor Al Whitaker expects to take the case to the Grand Jury in a few weeks.
He told us he's still considering whether to seek felony commercial gambling charges or misdemeanor charges.
