Marine Base job fair set for Sept. 13

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help United Research Services Corporation (URS) recruit numerous workers for the Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany. The company provides engineering, construction, and technical services to public agencies.

The recruitment will be held Saturday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Albany Career Center, 1608 South Slappey Blvd.

The company is recruiting electronic maintenance technicians, heavy mobile equipment mechanics, and auto painters.

Those who apply for the position of electronic maintenance technician must have at least five years of experience working with aircraft, vehicles, or missiles. They must also know about engines, electronic flight controls, and electrical and electronic principles.

Mobile equipment mechanics must have at least three years of experience maintaining and repairing vehicles such as farm tractors, trailers, mobile cranes, forklifts, fire trucks, or earth-moving machinery.

Auto painters must have at least three years of experience working in a transportation or industrial workplace.

Salaries range from $16.99 to $23.17 per hour.

To apply online, go to www.gdol.ga.gov, click on “Individual”, then “Find a Job” section, next “Georgia Job Openings”, and key in the job code for the specific position, in the “Job Number” box. Applicants must bring a resume, provide valid identification, and bring GDOL referral, if they have received one.
