MOUNT JULIET, TN (WSMV) -

Three people were injured and three horses suffered minor injuries in a crash involving a vehicle towing a horse trailer in Wilson County Monday.

The crash happened just after 6 p.m. on Mt. Juliet Road in Mt. Juliet.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said a 1996 Ford F-350 towing a horse trailer with three horses was traveling southbound on Mt. Juliet Road.

A 2009 Toyota FJ Cruiser was traveling northbound on Mt. Juliet Road. The driver of the FJ Cruiser made a left turn toward Breckenridge Road, directly in front of the F-350.

The driver of the FJ Cruiser failed to yield to the truck, and the truck hit the FJ Cruiser in the right passenger side area, knocking it back approximately 85 feet.

The truck then left the right side of Mt. Juliet Road and struck a large stone wall.

The driver of the F-350, 47-year-old Ralph Glynn of Mt. Juliet, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center. The passenger, 45-year-old Sharon Glynn of Mt. Juliet, was also transported to Vanderbilt.

The driver of the FJ Cruiser, 21-year-old Frank Mach of Mt. Juliet, was transported to Summit Medical Center.

Mach was charged with failure to exercise due car.

The horses in the trailer suffered minor injuries and are expected to be fine.
