VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The city of Valdosta is preparing to make sidewalk repairs along Gornto Road.
Starting Tuesday morning, crews will examine the sidewalks between Springhill Drive and Andover Drive for cracks and holes and will make repairs as necessary.
City officials say it's all part of their goal of keeping citizens safe.
"The goal of the city is to have sidewalks that are safe for our citizens to travel on," said Sementha Matthews with the City. "So, we're repairing a section of Gornto Road, the sidewalks there, that have holes or cracks or are otherwise unsafe to travel on."
The repairs are expected to take about five weeks to complete.
