ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Olive Garden restaurants made and delivered special "thank you" lunches to fire stations, police departments, and hospital emergency rooms on Labor Day, to honor their dedicated service.
In Albany, Dougherty County Police officers were honored.
Olive Garden has been feeding first responders for 13 consecutive Labor Days.
More than 800 restaurants around the country took part, including the one in Albany.
About 50 officers and family members enjoyed the "thank-you" lunch Monday. They said it's nice to feel appreciated.
"We like to feel appreciated too," said Tamiko Whitlock with Dougherty County Police. "In this sense, this company showed us that they do appreciate you and the job that you do and we're here to thank you for that. When you hear that, it's gives you that warm feeling inside."
Olive Garden managers said they appreciate the opportunity to thank law enforcement for the work they do to serve the community.
