WARWICK, GA (WALB) -

Warwick city officials plan to meet tonight to discuss who the next Warwick Police Chief will be.

They are expected to meet at 7 p.m. as they narrow down a list of three candidates for the job.

Tommy Coleman says they took in 16 applications from people who were interested in the position. Once city officials narrow down the three candidates they want, those names will be released to the public.

"When they select those top three, they'll call those people and say would you like to remain a candidate, if they say yes, they will disclose that, and they'll conduct interviews and back ground checks, and ultimately come up with one," said Coleman.

The former chief, David Morris, was fired by Warwick mayor Juanita Kinchen after she says he set quotas for the number of tickets police officers had to write.
