Bulloch County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to East Georgia Regional Medical Center on Sunday in regards to a Hispanic male subject who was severely beaten.

When deputies arrived, Senior Deputy Jeff Thompson met with medical staff and the 23-year-old victim. The victim suffered a broken jaw and chin, as well as several contusions. He indicated he was beaten at a residence in the 100 block of Bird Road by another Hispanic male.

When deputies responded to the residence, they discovered large amounts of blood inside the mobile home. The Hispanic female at the residence was witness to the beating and told police that her former boyfriend, Erick Quiterio, 23, arrived at the residence at 5 a.m. and beat the victim staying with her.

Quiterio surrendered to police later in the morning. He has been charged with aggravated battery, false imprisonment and criminal trespass. He remains in the Bulloch County Jail without bond.
