VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

The Summer may be winding down, but Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta still has some big events planned.

Saturday, nearly a dozen bands and performers from across South Georgia will be competing with each other throughout the day during the park's "Take The Stage" event. You can watch clips of each one online and vote for your favorite until midnight Friday. The winner will be announced Saturday afternoon.

You can also bring a canned food item when you come to the park through Labor Day and receive 50% off park admissions.

"We have four categories and 11 contestants and those folks will be on the stages here. There are two different stages, all day Saturday, with all kinds of music," said Laurie Windham, public relations coordinator at Wild Adventures.

The park is also getting ready for its haunted park and Halloween programs, which start September 26th. To see videos of the performers, visit www.wildadventures.com.
