ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Leadership Academy celebrated its 30th anniversary Thursday night.
A program was held to introduce its newest class. The members will learn about local institutions and find out about issues and problems confronting the community. Director Mary Ligon says it is up to the class to make their own imprints.
"It really is about exposing class members to what the opportunities are in the community," Ligon said. "What the issues are, allowing them to expand their personal network, find their passion about what they want to work on and then empower them to go do that."
Leadership Albany is run through the Chamber of Commerce and was established in 1984.
