ALBANY, GA - (WALB) -

Dougherty County Police are investigating a crash that sent one driver to the hospital.

A man driving a Ford Five Hundred was turning onto Radium Springs Road around 10:30 Thursday morning.

Police say he didn't stop at the stop sign on Northeast Rosewood Drive and was hit by a Ford Taurus.

The fire department had to use the jaws of life to get his driver's side door open.

That driver was sent to the hospital, but has been released.

"You see that stop sign, it's kind of far back. It's just that they got to be careful when you stop at a stop sign, you've got to make sure that inch your way up and make sure you have clearance on both sides of the road before you enter the roadway," Sgt. Robert Richard Dougherty County Police.

Charges are pending as the investigation continues.
