Officers respond to two-car wreck

A two-car wreck at West Society and North Madison brought out several law enforcement personnel. Though it's too soon for an official report, witnesses near the scene tell WALB that only one person hurt.

WALB is told that the driver of the Ford Expedition, 17 year old Raiquan James, didn't see the stop sign. He and his two passengers were fine.

They hit a Honda Accord, and the woman was trapped in the car. First responders got her out and took her to hospital.

"After I heard a big boom, I turned around and that's when I saw the SUV right here spinning around and slam into this tree, but the reason why, they can't see the stop sign over there. The stop sign is too far behind the tree," said witness Mehduty Khefera Hotep.

Neighbors say it's the fifth wreck there this year, because the stop sign is hard to see.
