Be prepared for large Labor Day crowds

ATLANTA (CBS46) -

Atlanta police are gearing up for a busy Labor Day weekend. They are getting ready to manage crowds and traffic that will flood the city for the more than 25 events taking place in Atlanta over the next four days.

APD expects more than 800,000 people to take part in events like Dragon Con, Atlanta Black Pride and several football games and other events.

Here is a partial list of those events:

Chick-Fil-A Fan events, Centennial Olympic Park, Friday through Sunday
Atlanta Braves vs. Marlins, Friday through Sunday, Turner Field
Chick-Fil-A Game Fan Fare, Saturday, Georgia World Congress Center, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Georgia Tech Football, Saturday, Bobby Dodd Stadium, 12:30 p.m.
Dragon Con parade, Saturday, Downtown, 9 a.m.
Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game, Saturday, Alabama vs. West Virginia, Georgia Dome, 7 p.m.
Atlanta Black Gay Pride, Thursday through Monday, throughout the city

They remind those going to these events to consider taking MARTA or carpooling to reduce traffic. Check with the event websites for information about what you can and cannot bring, and make sure to take valuables like purses and electronics out of your car when parking.

You can find more events happening around Atlanta and beyond in our Events Calendar.
