New selfie challenge encourages donations to local charities
ALBANY, GA (WALB) -
An Albany woman wants to start a new trend with selfies.Kaley Hart came up with the idea of charity selfies.
She wants people to take a selfie then donate money or time to a local non-profit or charitable organization of your choice.
She got the idea from the ALSA ice bucket challenges that has taken over social media. She says this new online social media challenge can make a difference in people lives right here in Albany area.
“Make a selfie of yourself, you choose your donation or volunteer place then you tag a friend. So this encourages people to get out there to stop being so self centered and think about other people,” said Kaley Hart.
Hart donated to Liberty House women's shelter in Albany. If you have any questions about how the charity selfies work, you can send Kaley a message on Facebook.
