Firefighters investigate Tift Co. house fire

TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Firefighters are investigating a house fire in Tift County. Officials said it happened at a home on Adams Road near Chula.

According to crews at the scene, homeowner Ed Moore was there and called 911 Tuesday afternoon about 4:00. He said he's counting his blessings. "It coulda been a lot worse. I had a lot of good neighbors that came in. It coulda been worse. I got some friends that's got some real bad health problems, and when I think about them, you know, I say well this is not bad, really," Moore said.

No one was injured in the fire. The house had smoke damage throughout, but most of the damage was in a carport.

Officials said the cause was still under investigation Tuesday.
